In early 2009, TREC gathered information from more than 100 executive
directors and development staff to assess the state of environmental
fundraising. This new report - the third in a series - provides
important insights into the ways the current recession is affecting
wilderness and conservation organizations. The report details the
steps groups are taking to cope with the downturn in the economy,
it includes a detailed analysis of fundraising strategies currently
being deployed, and it offers advice and guidance on remaining financially
resilient during these challenging times.
Over the summer of 2008, TREC conducted its third salary survey
of environmental organizations throughout the North American west
that work to protect wild lands and wildlife. Our purpose in producing
this report is to provide those working in the environmental sector
with information that they can use to gauge their salaries and benefits
policies. Our stakeholders have consistently told us that they have
used previous results to help compare their policies to those of
other similarly situated organizations and, where needed, to adjust
their compensation packages. TREC remains the only nonprofit organization
that compiles and disseminates this important information.
TREC issues a newsletter to disseminate reports, financial tips and articles about current topics of interest to the conservation community.
TREC's mission is to help groups in western North America working on wild lands and wildlife, so we'd like to share our recent fundraising survey which provides valuable insights and tips to help make your year-end fundraising activities more successful.
