Central Idaho Representative Job Description Summary of Position: The Central Idaho Representative works from the Idaho Conservation League’s Wood River field office in Ketchum, Idaho. This office was started in 1985, with particular focus on the outdoor-oriented Wood River Valley, which includes strong ICL support from the Sun Valley community. The Central Idaho Representative builds visibility, engages the public, and raises money and membership in the region. In collaboration with Boise staff and local board members, the Central Idaho Representative works to inform and empower members, volunteers and the public to become involved in regional and statewide environmental issues. As a full-time, exempt staff person, the Central Idaho Representative participates in team meetings with other ICL staff and reports to the Deputy Director. Position Responsibilities: Fundraising (50%) The Central Idaho Representative is responsible for building membership and soliciting donations in the Wood River Valley and region. These tasks will involve meeting members and donors and coordinating events for members and the public. Fundraising is done with the development team headquartered in Boise and based on an existing long-term donor base, recruitment of new supporters, and work with local board members. Outreach/Communication (30%) The Central Idaho Representative is responsible for enhancing the ICL presence and impact in the local and regional community by engaging members and the public in our work, including the locally based Pioneer Alliance, New Voices campaign, and other issues and campaigns directed from Boise. The Central Idaho Representative organizes and manages ongoing outreach efforts, such as the summer hike series, and coordinates sales of ICL’s Sun Valley hiking books. Administration (20%) The Central Idaho Representative is responsible for overseeing field office operations, including interacting with the public and members and managing office operations (mail, phones, computers, finances, coordination with Boise staff, etc.). The Central Idaho Representative participates in ICL meetings, retreats, etc., as needed, and completes all required paperwork (timesheets, work plans, etc.). The Central Idaho Representative also manages office support staff as appropriate; this office has often retained interns and at times additional staff. Key Outcomes: • Build regional visibility and fundraising capacity of the Idaho Conservation League • Lead the Central Idaho summer hike series and other visibility events in the community • Build the conservation community through outreach and communication and through implementation of our New Voices campaign and Pioneer Alliance outreach plan • Ensure teamwork and collaboration with staff by traveling to Boise multiple times a year Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree •Two or more years in fundraising or comparable life experience; •Conservation experience is a plus •Excellent writing, organizational, and analytical skills •Strong computer skills; experience in database management is helpful •Ability to manage details and meet deadlines •Ability to run an independent field office yet integrate with a team as appropriate •Energetic, motivated, and outgoing Compensation: ICL is a nonprofit conservation group based in Idaho.
